Timeless Tulips - Stamp 'N Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stamp 'N Hop blog hop.  If you are starting here with me at craftyducky HQ, or joining from my craft friend Mo Rootes we have lots of inspiration to share with you this month.

Our challenge for April was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) a card from Pinterest.

I have 436 Pinterest Boards (over 17,000 pins) - one for each stamp set I own!!  I spend lots of time wandering around Pinterest so, I think this was one of the most difficult choices I have made for a long time.

Eventually I came across a card I loved made by Akiko Sudano who is a SU Demo from America.

I've had the Timeless Tulips stamp set on my shelf for a couple of weeks but not had the chance to use it so, this project was perfect.

There are some fabulous sentiments in this set, I love the mix of fonts.  The images in this set are known as distinctive stamps - each stamp has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step.

Here are the colours I used for my project.

This is my version of Akiko's card - I made a couple of changes, aiming for a fresh Spring like look.

To create the Timeless Tulips card
21 cm x 14.5 cm Calypso Coral - scored at 10.5 cm
14.5 cm x 10 cm  ww thick * Top Tip!
10 cm x 14 cm ww (insert)
Small pieces of ww thick and Calypso coral for die cuts

To create the background

I used one of my favourite embossing folders - the Corrugated 3D embossing folder.  I love the depth and the sort of crinkled look this folder creates.

*Top Tip
When you use the Corrugated 3D embossing folder I have found that you lose 5 mm from the length due the depth of the embossed ridges.  I cut my background panel 5 mm longer than usual to compensate!

I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut two panels; one from thick ww and the other from Calypso Coral.

I also cut the smallest die from thick ww for the sentiment.

Stamp an assortment of flowers and leaves on the ww panel using Old Olive and Calypso Coral ink.

I also used Calypso Coral to stamp my sentiment using a stamp from Botanical Bliss - it was the perfect fit!  I had to ask my crafty followers for advice with the sentiment; I couldn't decided which colour ink to use.  Unfortunately the responses were split 50/50 so I flipped a coin to decide!

To assemble the Timeless Tulips card
Adhered the embossed panel to the card front with double sided tape.  Adhered the Calypso Coral panel with Tombow.  I used dimensionals to adhere the stamped panel and the sentiment.

I tied a tiny bow using the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding - love this ribbon, and adhered with a rolled up glue dot.

Top Tip
I coloured the ww ribbon with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend for a coordinated look.

I also stamped on the inner panel and adhered with double sided tape.

To assemble the Timeless Tulips card Adhered the embossed panel to the card front with double sided tape. Adhered the Calypso Coral panel with Tombow. I used dimensionals to adhere the stamped panel and the sentiment.

Here is the completed card and envelope (I stamped on the envelope too)

This project would look great using many different colours wouldn't it - just think of all the combinations.

There is also a Tulip Builder punch to coordinate with this stamp set so I am sure I will be sharing more projects soon.

Thanks for hopping along with us today, next up is Jenn Charles who I'm sure has a great project to share!

Stay safe and well, happy crafting!

Susan xx
