Geared Up Garage - for Rosie!

Hello, the card I am sharing with you today is a special one; it's my daughter Rosie's birthday card made with a stamp set called Geared Up Garage.

Geared Up Garage may not be the first stamp set that springs to mind when making a card for your daughter but it is for me!  Rosie wants a Mustang, she even has a savings account for one.

Every year she asks me to make another box card and this year was no exception.  I did suggest that another style might be a possibility this year but she soon put that idea to rest!

So, here is the card I made.

You will need:

WW Thick
Crushed Curry A4 card
Real Red A4 card
Silver Foil Sheet
DSP pieces

I haven't included the measurements today but you can find them HERE along with a tutorial showing how to put one of these box cards together.  Over the years I have made these in many different sizes; they are a lot of fun and best of all, they fold flat to fit in an envelope!

Please note that the DSP and ribbon I used are now sadly retired.

To Assemble:
Assemble the card base following tutorial.  I find it easier to adhere the centre pieces after I have decorated the box.

I used a piece of ww card and stamped oily splodges using second generation Smoky Slate ink.

I cut pieces of DSP and adhered to each flap using Tombow and then adhered the centre panels.

The sentiment:
I used the Stitched Nested Labels dies with a piece of ww thick card and stamped the sentiment with Memento.  The panel has been adhered with dimensionals.

The details:
I used Crushed Curry card to cut out the set of large gears and adhered to the back panel with mini dimensionals - a bit of a faff but worth it!

Stamp the Mustang with Memento ink and cut out with the coordinating die.  I coloured the car with light and dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.  I adhered the car to the first inner panel.

I also cut an assortment of smaller dies from silver foil.  I adhered some behind the car and on the side and centre flaps using a mix of dimensionals and Tombow.

Finishing Touches
I adhered a tiny metal key to the sentiment panel using several mini glue dots.  At the last moment, I added the ribbon to the centre panel for a bit more sparkle adhering on the reverse with mini glue dots.

I also created a panel for the back of the card so I could write a birthday message.

When I made this project I didn't know whether this versatile stamp set would be with us in the upcoming Annual Catalogue but I now know that it will be.

Stay safe and well, happy crafting!
