Christmas Gleaming - Hopping Around The World

Hello and welcome to another Hop Around The World.  We are a group of demonstrators who love to share our passion for papercrafting.

This month our theme is Christmas in July - why not grab a cuppa and hop around with us for lots of festive inspiration, it's never too early to start crafting for Christmas!

Here is my project:
Craftyduckydoodah, Christmas Gleaming, Stampin' Up, Hopping Around The World Blog Hop,

The colours I used:
I went with a non traditional colour scheme but you could of course go for traditional reds and greens if you prefer.

You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm ww thick - scored at 10.5 cm
8 cm x 8 cm ww thick
6 cm x 6 cm Night of Navy
ww thick scrap for stamping
10 cm x 14 cm Night of Navy
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm ww regular

The frame:
I was trying to recreate one of those old film negative type of frames.  I used the Layering Squares dies to cut out a frame and a border.

The stamping and colouring:
I used Memento ink to stamp the holly on a scrap of ww thick card.  I coloured with the Stampin' Blends.

I used the Shimmery Crystal Effects to highlight the berries and added a sprinkle of fine glitter for even more sparkle.

To assemble:
Adhere the mount around the frame with tiny dabs of Tombow.  The more observant amongst you will notice that I swapped the white mount for one in Night of Navy!

I placed Foam Adhesive Strips on the back of the frame and adhered the piece of DSP to the foam.  I then used Tombow on the back of the DSP to adhere the frame to the card front.

The sentiment:
I stamped the sentiment with Night Of Navy onto a scrap of ww thick, trimmed to leave a narrow border and adhered with mini dimensionals.

I added the holly to the corner with dimensionals.

The inside:
A simple sprig of holly, stamped in Memento coloured with the Stampin' Blends decorates the inside.  I adhered the two layers of card using double sided tape.

The completed project:
I also stamped (and coloured) a holly sprig on the envelope flap for a coordinated look.

I really like this clean and simple card, I have someone in mind to receive this too - 1 card down, many more to go!

Next up is Maureen Rauchfuss from the USA who has more festive inspiration to share.

Thanks for hopping around with us, have a crafty weekend.
