Angels of Peace - Stamping INKspirations

Hello and welcome to another Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop.  I will be using a lovely stamp set called Angels of Peace for my project.

If you are starting our hop here with me at Craftyducky HQ or have hopped over from Terry Hamilton we have lots of Christmas inspiration to share with you this month.  The theme for our hop is 'sounds of Christmas' and our favourite Christmas songs.  As soon as I got hold of the June - December mini catalogue I had to have the Angles of Peace stamp set.

This lovely stamp set contains beautiful greetings and images of angels and offers many opportunities to use various colouring mediums.

Paired with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder, and with the carol Hark The Herald Angels Sing planted firmly in my mind,  I had my project for this hop!

Here is my project:
I used two different methods to colour my project - water colour pencils and ink with water painters.

You will need:
29 cm x 10.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 14.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm Pacific Point x 2
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm Water Colour Paper
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm Basic White (insert)
Watercolour Paper

The background:
I used Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point ink squished into the lid of the ink pads with waiter painters to add colour to the panel of water colour paper.  Once dry, I then used the Merry Melody embossing folder.

Top tip:
Make sure the treble clefs are on the left hand side.  The clefs should be at the beginning of each stave - I have seen projects online where this is not the case!

The Angel:
I stamped this gorgeous angel with Stazon ink onto a piece of water colour paper and then added colour using the water colour pencils.  I used a clean water painter to drag the colour around the image and once dry, fussy cut out.

To assemble:
Adhere the embossed background to the Pacific Point piece of card using Tombow and then adhere to the card base.  I used dimensionals to adhere the angel.

The inside:
I stamped the sentiment and a partial angel onto the piece of basic white card using Pacific Point ink.   This was then adhered onto the second Pacific Point piece of card and then the inside of the card.

The details:
I used Wink of Stella to add some shine to the wings - you can just about see it on the right hand side.

I also added some rhinestone jewels for a little more Christmas sparkle.

The completed project:
This card will be winging (sorry) its way to a colleague as she loves angels in all their forms.

I also stamped a partial angel on the envelope too.

I don't very often use Pacific Point, it is a very intense colour - it is perhaps less scary when used to create a watercolour background!  Next up is Angie McKenzie who has another great project to share with us.  If you get lost along the way a list of participants can be found below.

This lovely stamp set will not be available next year and is currently on offer for just £10 (50% saving)!

Thanks for hopping along with us.  Happy Christmas!

Susan xx
